Ozlynn

This is a commission for LucidRequiem, of her doll Ozlynn. I've thoroughly enjoyed doing this piece, and have loved doing red hair. The make-up was so much fun to do as well. I've always wanted to draw a lace top as well, and when I saw Ozlynn I thought lace would suit her perfectly.

Eloise

So this is my new piece, another version of a hipster girl! This is my half of the collaboration with Jenni Sparks. Just putting it up here to show you that I am still alive and doing work! I've ordered a new scanner which I should have this weekend, so I'll be able to do a better scan of this and some close up details.

WIP LucidRequiem's Oz

This is a work in progress shot for LucidRequiem's doll called Oz. I've really loved working on this piece, I do have a love for red hair! The eye makeup has been very exciting to draw as well, it's not something I would usually do a lot of on my drawings but it has been so much fun I'll definitely try to do more interesting makeup in future!

New work in progress

I've decided to do another hipster girl piece, simply because the last one was so much fun to do and I need another piece to break up the sheer amount of work that needs to go into the Edwardian Girls piece.
Anyway this piece is going to be a collaboration with Jenni Sparks (check her out!), I think it's going to be really interesting to see how our styles combine and work in this piece.

Sketching

I've been pretty busy at work at the moment and have just left my illustration work in the dark for evenings of  relaxing infront of the TV with a cup of tea and sudoku. But I need to get back in it now, and to ease myself back in I'm doing a few quick sketches throughout the week.
Here is my first one:

Still working!

Well I have been quite busy with my new job at the moment, so I haven't had a lot of time to work on my illustration. But now that things are settling into a routine I am finding I actually have the energy to get back to it! So here is an updated shot of the Edwardian girls (yet to name them), enjoy!

Also if you would prefer to keep updated on what I'm doing else where I'm on Twitter and Facebook.

More work in progress- Edwardian Girls

So I am still working on the Edwardian Girls piece (their names have yet to leap out at me). I'm going for a pink purple and blue on this one. I ordered some Prismacolor pencils to try them out and I LOVE them. They have such a smooth and silky texture, and they blend like a dream!
Keep watching for more updates on this piece soon.

New Piece!! (Work in Progress)

Well after a long break since my last piece I have started another today. Here is a little sneak peak of where I have gotten up to today. Keep in watching for more updates soon!!

Oh and check out my new angled desk that my boyfriend brought me for my birthday. I'm in love with it! I've been drawing for at least four hours today, and normally my back wouldn't be too happy right now, but there isn't even a twinge!!!

Poppy

Here is my new piece that I have been working on for absolutely ages. It a piece dedicated to one of my watchers as a thankyou for their continued support. I will be doing another giveaway sometime this year, but not too soon as I have some personal ideas I want to do before then.
I decided in the end to ditch the green leaf background as it wasn't working as I wanted it too, and was detracting from the star of the show; the poppies. I have really enjoyed drawing flowers, and they will definitely feature in at least one more of my pieces this year.

Poppy (Work In Progress)

So this is a piece I am working on the moment. I did an event on my deviantart where I asked my watchers to comment, and I would then pick a random comment and do a piece that they wanted me to. The watcher I picked (PoppyMay) wanted a piece based on Poppies, so off I went. I've always wanted to do a piece that involved flowers more prominently, so this has been a lot of fun.

So here are some pictures of where I'm upto at the moment:

After the background layer of pastel was added and now I'm starting to do the detailing in the background:

Margot- Hipster Girl

It's finally finished!
So this is the Hipster Girl image that I have finally finished. I think it's turned out to be one of my better pieces, and my most 'trendy one'. I'll be turning this into a tshirt design for Threadless, so watch this space.

I'm still alive... some more work in progress!

(The second work in progress photo of hipster girl)

So after a long Christmas break I am starting to get back into work again. The first thing I want to do is complete the hipster girl image I started last year, and then after that complete a commission that is sprinkled with poppies.
Other projects I would like to do this year would be to do a series of work based upon a theme. I'm thinking circus, masks, flower meanings or Rococo...too much choice it seems! I would also like to collaborate with some fellow illustrators... so if you're reading this and are interested don't hesitate to get in contact.
